Locks of Love!

On the way there!
So, I've been wanting to cut my hair for Locks of Love for a while now, and finally made the big cut last thursday! For those that don't know, Locks of Love is a foundation that makes real hair wigs for children, mainly little girls, that don't have hair, either due to leukemia, chemo, etc. The mandatory amount of hair is 10 inches. Afte we got it cut, we measured the ponytail (the hair has to be in a ponytail for them to use it) and I was able to donate 14 inches!! I wasn't planning on going as short as my stylist went, but she did a good job and I'm happy with the turnout.

Just to get an idea of how long my hair was before..

Road Trip!

This past weekend I was able to travel with a few friends of mine to go see a couple friends play basketball as the Boyce Bulldogs took on Berea College. We had so much fun, although the game didn't turn out as well as we'd hoped. Me and Jesse made posters at the request of one of the players, which was much fun!

Fall Festival Fun!

As I mentioned in an earlier blog, we had our church's fall festival saturday and I was lucky enough to get a video of the legions skit. It is a cell phone video, so it is quite blurry but you get the idea and for those of you who can't tell that's Mr. Jacob R and Kyle C in this skit! One Year Today...

One year ago today at about 5 am I was on my way home from work, fell asleep at the wheel, and flipped my car. Thankfully the LORD was watching over me that day and allowed me to walk away with a few cuts and bruises. I can't express what I felt today, I guess you could call it an overwhelming gratefulness to God for giving me life and in awe of His protection over me that night. I thought it quite fitting that this day 'just happened' to fall on a Sunday which gave me the opportunity to be surrounded by and able to worship alongside my brothers and sisters throughout this particular day.

My car however, as you can see above, wasn't as fortunate as I.

Such a fun weekend!

So it's been a LONG while since my last post... but yesterday we had our Fall Festival at Bullitt Lick and it was soo much fun! Everyone had a blast! I don't have any pictures of the fall festival but I know there were several cameras there!

Then later that night as some of the college kids were putting things away and breaking down stages, we thought...'we're all here, the nights early, why don't we hang out?' So we put our minds together to try and think of something todo.. when the nice JimBob came out to check on us and said we could use their fire pit and have a bon fire!!! Such a Good Idea!! So Jacob and I headed off on a Kroger run to get smores supplies, while Kyle made a White Castle run (you have to remember... we are college kids.. haha) There were a couple of musicians (Kyle, Dan, and Chris) within our group and after a few smores for everyone we were able to enjoy some wonderful music. We then proceeded to star gaze, which I have not done in YEARS! And then headed up to my house for a very serious round of... PICTIONARY!

All in all... we had a BLAST!! Hope you enjoy the few pictures I took of the bonfire (there were more but they were blurry) and again a special thanks to JimBob and Missy for letting us use their fire pit and back yard!
